1 [[David's.]] Blessed be Yahweh, my Rock, who teacheth my hands to war, my fingers to fight: Fingers to fight – We should never go to battle without the assurance that the battle is the Lord's, nor should we forget that "Our weapons are not carnal weapons." (2 Cor. 10:4) R2015:3

2 My lovingkindness and my stronghold, my high tower and my deliverer–mine! My buckler, and he in whom I have sought refuge,–He that subdueth my people under me.
3 O Yahweh! what is the earthborn, And yet thou hast acknowledged him,–the son of a mortal, And yet thou hast taken account of him:
4 The earthborn, resembleth, a vapour, his days, are like a passing shadow.
5 O Yahweh! bow thy heavens and come down, Touch the mountains, that they smoke:
6 Flash forth lightning, that thou mayest scatter them, Send out thine arrows, that thou mayest confound them: Cast forth lightning – Diffusions of knowledge. R511:2

7 Put forth thy hands from on high:–Snatch me away and rescue me out of mighty waters, out of the hand of the sons of the alien,
8 Whose mouth, hath spoken deceit, and, whose right hand, is a right hand of falsehood.

9 O God! a new song, will I sing unto thee,–On a harp of ten strings, will I make music to thee:
10 Who giveth victory unto kings–Who snatcheth away David his servant, from the calamitous sword.
11 Snatch me away and rescue me out of he hand of the sons of the alien,–whose mouth hath spoken deceit, and, whose right hand, is a right hand of falsehood:– Strange children – The Lord shall separate the false, or strange, children from the true, and will glorify the saintly ones. R4768:2

12 That, our sons, may be like plants well grown while yet young,–Our daughters, like corner pillars,–carved, in the construction of a palace: Corner stones – Corner pillars. R4768:4

The grace and beauty of the children of the Messiah will be marvelous, attaining to more than Adamic perfection. R4768:4


13 Our garners, full, pouring out from one kind to another; Our flocks, multiplying by thousands–by myriads, in our open fields: Our streets – Your open pastures. R4768:4

14 Our oxen, well-laden; no breaking in and no departing,–and no loud lament in our places of concourse:– No breaking in – No breach--no rupture of happy relationships. R4768:4

Nor going out – No migration, no more seeking for better or more happifying conditions. R4768:5

Even death shall be destroyed. R4768:4

No complaining – Discontent is now rapidly increasing with every added blessing of our wonderful day. R4768:5

Contentment will take the place of selfishness and discontent. R4768:5


15 How happy the people that is in such a case! How happy the people that hath Yahweh for its God! Happy is that people – It is an ideal picture of the future and not of the past. R4768:1

That happy nation will acquire, additionally, a happy home and a worldwide paradise. Even human perfection could not bring happiness if calamities continued. R4768:2

Whose God is the LORD – Whose God is Jehovah. We need to correct our ideas and our theologies. R4768:5
