1 Give ye thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness. Endureth for ever – To a full completeness. R5427:3

The wrath of God is always just, and tempered with mercy. R5427:3, R3283:4, R2613:2

This Psalms was probably sung by the Levites and the people of Israel at the dedication of Solomon's Temple. R3283:4, R4297:1

Therefore, the punishment of the wicked will end sometime. R236:4, R356:2


2 Give ye thanks to the God of gods, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.
3 Give ye thanks to the Lord of lords, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.
4 To him that doeth great wonders, by himself alone, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.
5 To him that made the heavens with understanding, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.
6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness. Stretched out the earth – By gathering together the waters into seas; by convulsions of earth casting up mountain ranges and depressing other parts for the gatherings of waters, seas. R1813:1

Above the waters – Higher than the waters. R1813:1 Psalms 136:8

The sun to rule – Not the limitation of its usefulness; only that which specially pertains to man and the earth, his home, is mentioned. R1812:6

9 The moon and stars to rule the night, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.

God's mercy towards human sinners will endure until Christ makes an end of it in the close of the Millennial age. R1454:1

Not limited to the present life. During the Millennial age the hand that smote will be turned to heal. R5427:3; A256
