1 And it cometh to pass on the eighth day, Moses hath called for Aaron and for his sons, and for the elders of Israel, |
Came to pass – The 9th chapter relates to the consecration of the priests; to be repeated in the case of every priest who attained to the office of High Priest. R5391:2

2 and he saith unto Aaron, 'Take to thyself a calf, a son of the herd, for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, perfect ones, and bring near before Jehovah. |
Said unto Aaron – Representing Jesus, our High Priest. E449; T79, T80
This offering was in connection with the consecration of the priest, showing how the bullock and the goat must die. Q26:1
A young calf – A young bullock, representing the humanity of Jesus, our Redeemer. T51, T79, T80
For a sin offering – "Thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin." (Isa. 53:10) T52
Before the LORD – Before Jehovah, to whom the price was paid. E449
Not paid as a price, but merely laid in the hands of divine justice as a deposit.

3 'And unto the sons of Israel thou dost speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin-offering, and a calf, and a lamb, sons of a year, perfect ones, for a burnt-offering, |

4 and a bullock and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before Jehovah, and a present mixed with oil; for to-day Jehovah hath appeared unto you.' |

5 And they take that which Moses hath commanded unto the front of the tent of meeting, and all the company draw near and stand before Jehovah; |

6 and Moses saith, 'This [is] the thing which Jehovah hath commanded; do [it], and the honour of Jehovah doth appear unto you.' |

7 And Moses saith unto Aaron, 'Draw near unto the altar, and make thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make atonement for thyself, and for the people, and make the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as Jehovah hath commanded.' |
For thyself – The sons of Aaron considered as the members, or body, of the High Priest. Q551:3
Those to be called to be members of the Body of Christ required it. T79

Atonement for them – Showing that the Church's share in the atonement could have been dispensed with entirely. T79

8 And Aaron draweth near unto the altar, and slaughtereth the calf of the sin-offering, which [is] for himself; |
And slew the calf – The young bullock, representing Jesus at the age of thirty years. T51, T79, T80
Was for himself – Was instead of, or a substitute for, himself. T80

9 and the sons of Aaron bring the blood near unto him, and he dippeth his finger in the blood, and putteth [it] on the horns of the altar, and the blood he hath poured out at the foundation of the altar; |
Sons of Aaron – All who will be priests will recognize the value of the blood of Jesus. R96:2

Upon the horns – Horns are symbols of power. T42
Of the altar – Those who realize the power of the altar must first recognize the blood which sanctifies it. T42

Bottom of the altar – Upon the qround, showing that through the blood of the sacrifice even the earth was purchased back from the curse. T42

10 and the fat, and the kidneys, and the redundance of the liver, of the sin-offering, he hath made a perfume on the altar, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses; |
But the fat – Symbol of Christ's loving zeal. T57
And the kidneys – Representing our best powers. T45

Slew It – Indicating that the sacrifice of Christ and his followers was necessary to attain the kingly priesthood. OV106:3

Of peace offerings – Representing the vows, obligations and covenants assumed by the Christ company, based upon acceptance of the sin-offering. T81
Was for the people – Foreshadowing the blessing of the world in the Times of Restitution. T82

19 and the fat of the bullock, and of the ram, the fat tail, and the covering [of the inwards], and the kidneys, and the redundance above the liver, |

21 and the breasts, and the right leg hath Aaron waved a wave-offering before Jehovah, as He hath commanded Moses. |
For a wave offering – Representing that consecration is not for a moment, or a day, or a year, but forever. T45

22 And Aaron lifteth up his hand towards the people, and blesseth them, and cometh down from making the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings. |
And blessed them – Picturing the blessings of all who will become true Israelites during the Messianic reign. PD36/47
