Brethren to dwell together in unity – The unity which comes from the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit. This unity can be achieved only in the right way. see R768 |
| 2 Like the precious oil upon the head, descending upon the beard; the beard of Aaron,–which descended unto the opening of his robe: |
Precious ointment – The holy anointing oil, picturing the Holy Spirit.
Upon the head..Aaron – This anointing begins with our Lord at Jordan. Matt. 3:16
Down to the skirts of his garments – This anointing continues down to the skirts - the hem, the very lowest part of his garment. This indicates the anointing of the Holy Spirit that began with our Head Jesus, continues to the very last (feet) members of the body of Christ. |
