| [Rev. 17:1]And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: ... [15] And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. Rev. 17:1,15 | The 'Great Whore' sits on 'many waters.' Those waters are defined as "peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." While these verses say nothing about the "voice", it does clearly define for us the "many waters." |
| [Rev. 1:15]And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. Rev. 1:15 | Here it is clearly Jesus whose voice is "as the sound of many waters." In Rev. 17:15 we are told "The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues."
This lets us know that the voice of Jesus is as or like the peoples, nations, etc. |
| [Rev. 14:2,3]And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: [3] And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. Rev. 14:2,3 | This time the voice of many waters eminates from the symbolic heaven and it is as a great thunder. It is also associated with the harpers playing their harps. This latter is a clear reference to Rev. 15:2. These are the ones who sing the song of Moses and the Lamb (15:3), i.e., the Little Flock. This fact is even more specifically emphasised in verse three by its declaration that the only ones who are able to learn this song are the 144,000.
In this case there is an association with controversy ("as the voice of a great thunder" - thunder being a symbol for controversy.) What could have been more controversial than the outpouring of the Present Truth into the nominal heavens?! |

Rev. 19:6,7 | Here the Great Company is described as having "the voice of many waters." We also see this voice of many waters being associated with controversy (thunderings), the reign of Christ and with the marriage supper. |
