If Ye Do These Things

2 Pet. 1:10,11 & R2154

"The Lord wishes us to learn, not as children, certain fixed rules, but as philosophers the fixed principles which can be applied." R4006

"The Little Flock will serve the Lord with such Delight they will scarcely know how to cease their Efforts." R5413

"For if ye do these things, ye shall never fall; for so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." — 2 Pet. 1:10,11.

"THIS statement of the Apostle Peter is suggestive of several important thoughts." R2154

1. What are the three main thoughts and how do we know they are true?

2. What are the foundation elements of our Faith? Were they inherited, learned or gifts from God?

"For if ye do these things"

3. How many things are there and is the number significant?

4. Are they in random order or are they in a progressive order and do they replace one another or do they add to one another?

5. Please define the additions and describe how we can add them to our character:
a. Virtue
b. Knowledge
c. Self-control
d. Patience
e. Godliness
f. Brotherly kindness
g. Agape Love

6. How does learning about these elements of character and applying (in our hearts) what we have learned here compare to the four quarter marks in our racecourse toward Perfect Love?

7. How have you seen each demonstrated in our Heavenly Father, Our Lord Jesus, and your Brethren?
