The First Ammendment to The United States Constitution
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
While today (2015) most people associate this with ammendment with freedom of speech, it should be noticed that this is not its first declaration. The rights guaranteed under this ammendment are (in the order given):
- Freedom of Religion
- Freedom of Speech
- Freedom of the Press
- The right to peaceably assembly
- The right to petition the Government
Thus seen, Freedom of Religion is the First Right Guaranteed by the U. S. Constitution.
