Blotting Out

This little study comes from Rev. 21:4 where we are told that God shall "wipe away" all tears. The Greek word used for "wipe away" is Strong's 1813. What follows is a list of all the places (only 5 in number) in the New Testament where this word is used.

From G1537 and G218; to smear out, that is, obliterate (erase tears, figuratively pardon sin): - blot out, wipe away.
(Act 3:19) Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, [G1813] when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

(Col 2:14) Blotting out [G1813] the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

(Rev 3:5) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out [G1813] his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

(Rev 7:17) For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away [G1813] all tears from their eyes.
